Yes! Once you buy the hardware, the core apps (Jellyfin, Immich, WireGuard) are yours forever. We only charge a subscription for our optional Care Plan, which provides priority support and automatic remote maintenance.

Absolutely. You can plug in external USB drives, and LocalNode will automatically detect them and add them to your available storage pool.

Currently, we pre-configure Jellyfin (for streaming your movies and shows), Immich (a Google Photos replacement for backing up your pictures), and WireGuard (to access your network securely from anywhere).

Yes. Once you connect to the built-in WireGuard VPN on your phone or laptop, you'll be able to access all your home media and photos securely, just like you were sitting in your living room.

Only you. LocalNode doesn't sync your files to any cloud, and we do not collect telemetry. If you ever need support, you must explicitly generate a temporary code to let our technicians in.
